PAXOS FESTIVAL 2014         29 August – 5 September

The festival  was directed by Alice Turner and Mikey Brownlee-Walker, with Dimitra Trypani directing the workshops in conjunction with Aneljia Stefanova for the children’s choir and Martha Mavroidi for the traditional work.

A Musical Theatre show based on Paxos folk tales, composed by Dimitra Trypani with words by Faye Lychnou, and led by Dimitra Trypani and Anelia Stefanova, accompanied by the Athens String Quartet and visiting musicians from the UK .

FOLLOW UP PERFORMANCES OF “ONCE UPON A TIME ON PAXOS”

After the success of the work on Paxos and its value for other choirs around Greece,it was decided to develop the work further and seek funding for publication.

Aneljia Stefanova tutored the children’s choir “Armonia”for a performance at the Cultural Centre of the diocese of Preveza on 22 March 2015

The “Armonia Choir” and their director also performed the work at the Children’s Choir Festival at the Megaron of Thessalonika on 2 April 2015, and at the opening concert of the Summer Academy of the Music Department of the Ionian University in Corfu on 1 July 2015

The complete work was performed by the Music High School of Lefkada  in Lefkas  on 9 & 10 May 2015 under Aneljia Stefanova.
